Prison Ministry to BCC Sept 21, 2012

The feedback from all our Chapter members was positive and we are still celebrating God's goodness that was bestowed upon us that day. We counted approx. 112 that heard a message, 28 who received personal prayer, and 3 that received Jesus as Lord and Savoir for the first time!
                          Note

Country B-B-Q

On Sept 15th, 2012 we were invited to the home of a new biking friend, Helen. We enjoyed a great BBQ together with Helen and her friends and family.
After the bonfire was started President Bruce played beautiful music and lead us in a great time of worship.
A big thank you to Helen and family.
Helen is looking forward to getting her own motorcycle. So for right now she is doing her "riding" on the back of another bike to get ahead start on her time of "riding with the pac" before joining CLR.

Is This Rebellion?

Sunday Sept 2nd, on a recent trip to Dauphin Manitoba celebrating a wonderful morning at Pastor Scott Allen's church where CLR members and others from the community shared a great pancake breakfast with each other and the wasps. After failing to obtain food at Barnaby's in Onanole, we proceeded to Uncle Toms diner in Minnedosa.
Shortly after this strange CMA member was discovered, his identity was hidden from the camera for his own safety. So is this (1) A new  extension to the patch? (2) Total rebellion? ( 3)Can't read? (4) Or just the editor of this blog goofing off?

Alzheimer Poker Derby Aug. 18, 2012

Once again this year CLR participated in helping out with the Alzheimer poker derby. This is about the 11the year that we have been involved. This year it was held in the downtown location closing off 9th street just south of City Hall.
This location was first used in 2011 because the floods of that year ravaged the park we have been using previously. It has proven to be very suitable and to all participants and volunteers seems to be favored over the park location.
This year there has been an increase in participants even though rain was threatened for the region. We did have a few riders running through localized rain showers and the site of the games received a good downpour just prior to the games starting. No harm done. From this short blurb, I will let the pictures following tell the story. See you all next year.

Other events CLR members attended this summer

Cycle Boyz Poker Derby, Cystic Fibrosis Ride for the Breath of Life, Cavalier Ride North Dakota, Bondslave MC Victory Rally & Races, BAD Rally(bikers against diabetes), Port Dover Friday the 13th, Sturgis, Teen Challenge Ride for Eternity This has been an exceptional year for motorcycling in the region. The Lord has protected all of the riders and blessed their efforts in this ministry.

Praise the Lord for the return of ALL lost moneys

Adventures of our Sunday afternoon rides:

Our ride to Neepawa on August 5th turned out to be a great adventure. As we left Neepawa one rider lost a bundle of cash from his pocket. A few others stopped to help him and they were able to reclaim all of the $500. that had blown away. Our normal ride is to head out of Brandon and ride for approximately one hour for ice cream and then return to Brandon and see who would like to go out for supper as a group. On this occasion the consensus was to head from Neepawa to Lee’s restaurant in Rivers. We arrived in Rivers only to find the restaurant CLOSED. After a long discussion a restaurant in Brandon was picked. Again on arriving at the chosen restaurant it was CLOSED. After a shorter discussion another restaurant in Brandon was picked, only to find out on arriving that there was NO ROOM for us. One more restaurant was chosen and this time we were successful. We left BP in Brandon after finishing our meal at 8:40. Our next Sunday ride was to Virden and then on to Rivers. This time we phoned ahead and 21 of us enjoyed a meal together before returning back to Brandon.

Smoke and Spoke, Father's day June 17, 2012

The long awaited day had arrived for our group to head to my spiritual parents church – Yorkton Faith Ministries located in Yorkton SK. I was pumped up in the Spirit after spending a week at the International House of Prayer in Kansas City and was looking forward to releasing some Kingdom words to God’s people in SK. The day was cool and rain was in the air but my heart was warmed by the fact that there was a portion of the Christian Light Riders to accompany me on this journey.

We arrived in Yorkton in the pouring rain but were quickly warmed by the welcoming we received. After a sweet time of worship, Pastor Kevin Bundus (my spiritual dad) turned his pulpit over to me and what an honor and privilege that was. I have been in their church many times and have grown fond of the congregation so to be able to share my heart with these brothers and sisters in Christ was an experience like no other. There is something so very special about preaching in a house fathered by the man and woman who led me to Christ five years ago.

Much to my brother Jimmy’s delight I kept the message to one hour and after some altar prayer we were treated to a bountiful BBQ and wonderful fellowship. Pastor Kevin and Pastor Pat Bundus spared no expense treating the Christian Light Riders like royalty. They also blessed us with a significant donation to the Run For The Son annual fundraiser. I owe much to Kevin and Pat for it was because of their love for Jesus and fulfilling His Words that I am where I am today. A big thank you to Kevin and Pat and the members of the congregation at Yorkton Faith Ministries for your love and hospitality.

That’s Pat and Kevin to my left in our group photograph. Just for the record, Kevin rides a motorcycle too.
Our ride home was wet and cold but our hearts were warm after experiencing the love of Jesus through His people, His Word and the fellowship of wonderful brothers and sisters in Christ.
Blessings and love in Christ;
President Bruce

Brandon Correctional May 2012 visit

On Saturday, May 26th The Christian Light Riders made one of their visits to the Brandon Correctional Centre. In the past we have made an annual visit on the 3rd Saturday in September, this year we have been blessed with the privilege of having a visit in Spring and Fall. On a weekend full of rain and cold weather God answered our prayers and we remained dry. Jesus opened doors and hearts that afternoon as once again He used men and women to share God̢۪s Love and plan of salvation. In total four men gave their heart to Jesus that afternoon, three recommitted to the Lord and 23 men and women received personal prayer.

On Thursday, May 31st Brandon Correctional Centre hosted a Volunteer appreciation supper. Our President Bruce Ewanyshyn was invited but regretfully was unable to attend, Secretary Grace Loewen attended on behalf of the Christian Light Riders. The photo shows Grace receiving a plague from Chaplain Bernie Mullins in recognition of our annual visits to the centre.

Presentation at Bethel for Run For The Son

This morning at about 9 am. the skies cleared and the rain stopped. That was not in the forecast. Thank you Jesus!

The picture on the right is Bruce up front of Bethel Christian Assembly in Brandon during the praise and worship session.

Pastor Mike has always been supportive of having the bikes in the church as well. Lot's of children like to look at the bikes and some of the Moms ask to have pictures taken on the bikes.

The presentation included  the 2012 DVD and an explanation of what the Christian Motorcyclist Association is and how Christians, including those here as members of the Christian Light Riders help to make the world a better place one heart at a time. The pictures below are of Bruce and the members of CLR on the stage.

The bike below on the right is Jim and Jeannie's new bike that Pastor Mike (jokingly) said was in a church raffle.

CLR Executive for 2012

      New Executive

Early December 2011 CLR elected it's Executive for 2012. Not much change from the last Executive, that probably reflects the dedication of the leadership and the confidence in their ability to lead the membership under the covering of CMA Canada.

From Left to right: Leo Boivin, Treasurer, Brian Wilson, Vice President, Grace Loewen, Secretary, Bruce Ewanyshyn, President and Merl Isaak, Chaplain.

The picture was taken in the playroom of our regular meeting location Huggie's Restaurant which is held on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 6:30 pm.
