December Christmas Party

The Christian Light Riders got together for the annual Christmas pot luck party at the home of Ken and Martha Martens. See this picture of Ken and Martha on the right with Jim Stremel in front of the TV.
Pot luck dinners are always a great celebration and the feature was roast turkey. After dinner when everybody was stuffed (like the turkey) we had a gift exchange. See the extra large earmuffs supplying comfort to Jeanie Stremel. These are Manitoba certified!

After, Leo Boivin gave a video presentation of what was called "Motorcycle Goofs" a compilation of a variety of motorcycle crashes that made you wonder if there are any brains in those bobbing heads on those two wheelers. Go figure.
So that brings us to the close of 2007.
Merry Christmas to all and especially to the members of Christian Motorcyclist Association. May God continue to Bless you and yours in 2008.

BCC visit Sept 22nd, 2007

This is a small clip of the group of about 10 motorcycles entering the grounds at the Brandon Correctional Center on Saturday Sept 22nd. It was a great day to do outside ministry, an annual event for the CLR. We had representation from Falcon Lake, Winnipeg and Dauphin. This year we implemented a new format that seemed to create a bit more one-on-one interaction with the inmates. After the ministry was completed we were treated to a great dinner with the inmates and guards. Here is a picture of the group.

Divine Appointments.
On August 5 2007 after our morning service, a lady whom I have known for years came and asked if she could pray for me as I was going to Sturgis. As she was praying she began to pray that God would use my mouth and a fresh anointing of the Spirit upon my preaching. Her words were "fresh speech, new speech." I thanked her for her prayer.
As I rode towards Sturgis I was praying for divine appointments. I had the pleasure of praying for a number of people at gas stations and at Sturgis proper. So I was looking for divine appointments.
While looking at a leather jacket, I noticed above the till, " Jesus is Lord!" I asked if they were Christians and they said yes they were. We exchanged pleasantries and then asked what we did and were we were from I said I pastor a church in Dauphin Manitoba Canada. He mentioned he attended a church in Border Texas. AS we chatted, he stopped and said, " I believe I have a word, prophecy, for you." He then looked at me and said these words " A new anointing is coming, a new fresh language, new speech. Jeremiah chapter one. God is going to touch your lips and you are to preach with the power and the anointing and the finger of God. Like a new speech."
Needless to say I shared what happened two days earlier. We were really blessed. I was looking for divine appointments for others and God had one for me.

Are you sure? Do you really know?

On Friday August 17th a dear friend of the CLR's was eulogised at the celebration of his life. Brian Hamilton had passed away on August 13th. Brian had been resident of the Brandon Regional Health center for long time. Ken Martin, a CLR charter member who worked at the hospital came alongside Brian over the last two years. He and Brian developed a close relationship that extended to Brian,s family and also the rest of the CLR members.
The relationship was such that Ken was able to communicate to Brian the spiritual side of man and how to be sure and really know where one would spend eternity. Ken assured Brian that there was a plan for his life that all of this was not just coincidence. Brian accepted Jesus as Lord and Saviour and received the assurance and knowledge of where he would spend eternity. Brian's question for Ken, "what about my friends" was presented to those attending at Memories Chapel. How about you, are you sure? Do you really know?
