Serving with New Hope Ministry

On June 8th I had the pleasure of serving alongside some wonderful children and adults at the Brandon Royal Fair. The founder of the New Hope Ministry had recently broken her leg and appealed to the Christian Light Riders to provide workers to assist in operating pony rides for children from the ages of 1 year to approx 10 years of age. I was put in charge of a couple of ponies to lead them and a rider around a corral. For many of the children it was their first time on an animal and their expressions and those of their parents truly blessed me. A four hour shift flew by and my heart was truly warmed by the children, their parents and those young people that I had the pleasure of serving alongside. This is a Christian ministry and parents of the children were handed an information flyer afterwards explaining the ministry and services that are provided including special occassions such as birthday parties. It is another way of spreading the Good News of the Gospel to the Brandon community. It was also a wonderful opportunity to serve as a member of the Christian Light Riders. I was truly blessed coming in and going out. Thank you Jesus!

2011 Run for the Son

May 29th 2011 was not the typical warm late may day. The temp hovered at about 7degrees with virtually no wind. The group met for breaky at Smities on the higway. We were joined there by our Area Coordinator James Rosso who had decided to come to Brandon by car. We had very little choices in highways to take to get to Shoal Lake. Many of the secondary highways were closed due to flooding.
We had been invited once again to the home church of our Chaplain Merl Isaakthe We are so blessed by this congregation. The speaker for the service was our very own biker/pastor Scott Allen, his Dauphin congregation hosted Manitoba area Seasons of Refreshing in early April.
The rest of the day was rather cool so the group did not go for an extended ride. After a delicious lunch we headed back to Brandon. At this time I want to recognize Helen Rankin for getting Gene out to our events. Gene is having a difficult time and would covet your prayers for healing.  Here are a few pictures and there are many more on the photo server. Click on the spot on the left side of the screen and see them all.

This is our group getting ready to head off to Shoal Lake. It's about 9:00 am and about 7 degrees.

Here is most of the group with Bruce's bike in the foreground.

CLR's most dedicated leaders!

Well even though the elections were held last year (2010) it has taken this long to get something posted on this site. It's not that we were negligent, it was just that there was not a picture to go with the posting.  So finally we had a chance to get together with a camera and so it is what it is. Here we all are:
